What is beta-caryophyllene (BCP)?

Beta-Caryophyllene (BCP) is a common terpene found over 1,000 plants & herbs. Many are familiar food plants, like basil, cloves, oregano, rosemary, allspice and hops. Researchers are showing that beta-caryophyllene provides major benefits in helping with depression, anxiety, PTSD, insomnia, sleep disorders and even addiction. Our BCPlus products are sourced from organic hops grown in the USA.

Where does it come from?

At least 30 plants have high concentrations of BCP. The main source for it is hops. cloves, or copaiba which is a rainforest tree from South America. Hemp contains only trace amounts of BCP.

IS BCP safe?

Beta-Caryophyllene (BCP) is non- pychoactive, making it a safe and effective Cannabis alternative that everyone can use. It is approved by the USFDA and European Food Safety Authority as a food additive.

What is it helpful for?

There are several benefits. The most studied benefits reveal BCP helps control pain and inflammation. Research and preclinical studies show that BCP is proven to help with:

How does it work?

BCP signals immune cells to decrease inflammatory substances and the number of cells inflammatory cells. It has other effects on pain receptors, regulating glucose and cholesterol. It also signals the endocannabinoid system at the CB2 receptors. And beta-caryophyllene has shown antibiotic and anti-cancer effects.

The oral form of Liposomal BCP delivers enhanced absorption and distribution to all parts of the body including the immune system, brain, liver and fat tissue. The liposomal form does this by imitating a natural cell membrane that can be easily absorbed by the body.

Are there scientific studies or research?

There have been thousands of studies that have been done on animals or cell cultures showing the benefits of BCP. But there have only been a few studies done in humans of a topical product. However, a recent clinical trial of this product was performed on 50 individuals. They reported improved symptoms for pain, allergies, stomach, attitude, sleep, energy, vision, relief of headache, dental pain. 

What are the side effects?

In less than 5% of patients Liposomal BCP (LBCP) was associated with skin irritation, headache, diarrhea, upset stomach. In most cases the users continued using LBCP because of the exceptional benefits they were receiving.

How is it taken?

The topical formula is used by applying five drops to an area of pain or the back of the hands. The liposomal formula is taken 1 mL twice a day with or without food. In addition the liposomal formula can be applied to painful areas on the skin or in the mouth.
